The purpose of this guideline is to provide a framework in the development of education and training in Lifestyle Medicine in the medical school and in the medical postgraduate training. The contemplated topics are: nutrition and dietetics, exercise and fitness, stress therapy, behavior change, sleep, sexual health, sexual health, environmental health, tobacco cessation, managing risky alcohol use and communication. Its report said 50g of processed meat a day - less than two slices of bacon - increased the chance of developing colorectal cancer by 18%. Meanwhile, it said red meats were "probably carcinogenic" but there was limited evidence. The WHO did stress that meat also had health benefits. Διαβάστε περισσότερα The European Society of Lifestyle Medicine is delighted to announce the ESLM Lifestyle Medicine Symposium at the 12th European Nutrition Conference FENS. 3 international Experts will highlight an important aspect of Lifestyle Medicine, global physical inactivity. Physical inactivity is a major independent modifiable risk factor for chronic diseases (noncommunicable diseases, NCDs) such as cardiovascular disease, ischaemic stroke, type 2 diabetes, colon cancer, and breast cancer. It is also associated with other important health outcomes including mental health, injuries, falls, and obesity. Globally, physical inactivity contributes to some 3.2 million deaths a year and is the fourth highest risk factor for death in the world, ahead of undernutrition, and alcohol use. Physical inactivity causes more than one in four cases of heart disease and of diabetes deaths, and more than one in five cases of breast and colon cancer. 3 experts will highlight the current evidence in the field and discuss strategies to improve prevention and treatment of chronic diseases through physical activity:
